There are no new textures in the pack, save for an omnipresent orange sky in all the new levels. The new campaign does feature entirely new music, which all sounds true to Doom's now-established style.

Unlike the other 1990s Doom ports, all of the enemies from the PC version of Doom are included. However, the Arch-vile monster from Doom II is not present; according to one of the game's designers, Harry Teasley, this was because he had twice as many frames as any other monster, and the team felt that they 'just couldn't do him justice' on the PlayStation.

But otherwise I did fine in general. I even remember handling the Cyberdemon well enough thanks to the Invulnerability secret. Unfortunately I fucked up my flawless run in this level by getting killed once by a crusher I didn't see. I have seen the first 2 but I rushed to get through them and didn't see the third one and slowly crushed me to death.:( I was so annoyed at what happened because the only levels I died in this episode were E4M1 and E4M2 (around 10 deaths in M1, around 15-20 deaths in M2) and just wanted a flawless run throughout the rest of the episode but SADLY didn't happen, although I came close with this being the only death from this level. Otherwise, a fine level that would have been better released as part of his Inferno series, much like how I wished some Master Levels authors released their levels as part of their series.

When first released in 1993, it took the gaming industry by storm. It was one of the fastest first person shooters gamers had ever seen, with a surprising amount of blood and gore. The game was all about running fast, blasting down hordes of demons, and navigating its labyrinthian levels.

Engine [ ] For the release, the programmers involved made some small tweaks to the as required for the new episode, adding the necessary text, a fourth-episode to the demo sequence, and modifying the death triggers to accommodate for new boss situations in the sixth and final levels. This last change had the side effect of making the modified executable that depended on the old trigger behavior. Additionally, the programmers also fixed a glitch existing in where on the floor or ceiling as intended.

GamePro awarded it Best PlayStation Game of 1995. 3DO Interactive Multiplayer [ ] The 3DO version was published by 3DO and developed by Art Data Interactive, with assistance from Logicware, and was released in 1996. It features the same level set as the Atari Jaguar version, as well as the same auto-save feature, but lacks multiplayer modes. This version runs in a small screen at a low frame rate, though it includes the option to shrink the screen size further, which allows the game to run faster and smoother. It lacks some effects found in other versions but has an updated soundtrack that features remixed and original music.

'Repent' has a ton of height variation with action taking across multiple tiers and ledges but escape from the pools of toxic blood is always a short hop away. Tracing the stream from the font at the beginning down to the channels it ultimately sustains is a neat map feature. I also dig the simple but abstract architecture with all the ledges and walkways. The action is pretty light, with a few hard points to deal with - like Barons in close quarters - but it's a small, solid adventure. Against Thee Wickedly E4M6 by John Romero Romero takes another whack at his trademark precipitous precipices, but it's a more substantial offering, with an intro that has you picking through a granite canyon before emerging at the tip of a marble stronghold built into the mountainside. Jumping in immediately puts you on the damage floor and you'll have to make several trips through it while you navigate the four different directions, accessed via a tall teleport obelisk whose sides are lifts.

Once you start playing this mappack, you cannot go back. One thing in e3m4: after you collect the blue key and go back to the 3 switches: when you push the switch in the middle then, that door closes and you are stuck. Right after solving the 3-switch puzzle it's not possible to pull the one in the middle, but later on for some reason it is.

PlayStation [ ] The version of Doom was published and developed by and released on November 16, 1995. This version spent six months in development. It is one of the best selling versions of the game after the original PC version. It was re-released several times, first on the ' range in the U.S., which requires that games have sold at least 150,000 copies there, and on the ' in, which indicates that it sold over 600,000 copies in those territories. Changes from the PC original include the removal of the 'Nightmare' difficulty level, and the fact that progress is saved via passwords (given at the end of each level). The passwords also save ammo and health stats, but the numbers for them are rounded. This version features 59 levels in total; 23 levels from the PC version of Doom (edited much like the Jaguar and 32X versions), both of the levels designed for the Jaguar version, six new levels designed by the Midway team, five levels from The Ultimate Doom 's fourth episode, and 23 levels from Doom II.

I'm wondering when you will do a Doom 2 review? Considering this month will be Doom 2's 24th anniversary and maybe it would be nice to review the game this month. Oh and I'm also looking forward to Heretic and Hexen reviews, considering their anniversaries are also approaching. Sorry if I made a very long post but I had to say my opinions about the game, considering the crappy comments I've left years ago where I had only played through Ultimate Doom (and ML and FD) only once and without getting everything, while this time I'm properly playing through them and without source ports too! So I'm experiencing the original games as they were meant to be played.:P -FistMarine.
