My view is that we spend so much on unwanted things in life and one should not grudge in paying the Priests who are upholding ancient dharma. The perception that all priests are rich and greedy is not correct.majority of them are very poor. They, because of low income through Purohitham are sending their children to other vocations.if this continues Sanstana Dharma will lose its main pillar. At the same time we should make the priests realize that we are paying more and that is because we want Sanstana Dharma to prosper and that the priests must be beyond greed.Regards.

Even though our sastrigal had suggested I do tharpanam only for pitha vargam and purushals from matha vargam (i.e. Thatha, kollu thatha etc) and don’t have to do for mother’s mother (paati and up).
They can’t attend the 11,12,13th days function also. Is it ok if kuzhi tharpanam alone is done? Can you give the method for kuzhi tharpanam?

I have written a few post on Tharpana, Sraddha. I have received requests for Tamil Text of Tharpana Mantras to enable one to follow the Mantras. I am posting these Mantras. I will be posting the meanings shortly. I am asked to provide Tamil Tharpana Procedure as set by Agastya. These are different from Apasthamba Sutra Tharpana in Sanskrit. I am in the process of collating the information and shall post as soon as my information is authenticated and complete.
However I have been doing the tharpanam for all i.e. 3+3 = 6 on father’s side and 3+3 = 6 on mother’s side. I feel I am equally obliged to perform my duties as a grandson for my maternal grandmother as I do for my paternal grandmother. I got all the details from my maternal uncle and even he suggested I don’t have to do it as he does it in his tharpanam. Am I doing the right thing or going against a norm?

Due to knee problem, will sit on a small stool and offer the tharpanam water at back of house. I believe the 10th day tharpana manthram is somewhat different to what we offer to parents on Amavasya days. One of my friends age 86 suggested to utter “Gothram of dead person, Name sharmana, mama brathaya prethaya followed by 1) Prathame Aahyam Vasodakam Dadami – 3 times water in reverse thro a piece of cloth 2) Dweethiye Aahyam Vasodakam Dadami – – 4 times water in reverse thru a piece of cloth and so on till 10th day – 13 times. Is this correct? Also, is it necessary to do the usual Sankalpam. Pls advice how to close the tharpanam.
As I mentioned in another blog, Tharpana,Sraddha are to be performed only after Noon, after performing Madyanhika and Brahma Yagnam. As a matter of fact Brahma Yagnam is to be performed Daily. It is sanctioned in the Sastras that the Sraddha or commitment to performing these Duties are important and not throwing away money to ease Conscience. Food is to be cooked at Home by the wife/Daughter and not by caterers or getting some one to cook at Home. It is for your parents.
Windows os advantages and disadvantages. Distributed systems have been around since the 1960s, and by the 1980s there were enormous advances in the technology, making it easy to store and share information from one single source. The advantages of a distributed system far outweigh the disadvantages, making them a popular choice for businesses, small or large. • More affordable Compared to adding a new mainframe to the network, adding a new workstation is much more affordable and offers more performance for the money.• Improved communications Communications are easier to manage since local sites are closer to customer operations.• Reduced risk of single-point failure The risk of a single-point failure is minimized due to the processing/data being distributed. If one workstation goes down, the processing and data transfer can easily be picked up by another workstation.• Easy growth As the data and processing needs increase with the business, new workstations can be easily added to accommodate the growth with little to no disruption of the system.• Processor independence Specific processors can be used to handle different user requests.
